Empowering Entrepreneurs for Sustainable Business Growth: CCCI and Cebu City LGU Join Forces

Last April 12-14, 2023, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) organized a three-day Business Recovery Mentoring Training aimed at equipping nano and micro-enterprises with the necessary tools and strategies to develop a business continuity plan (BCP) and implement business continuity principles to ensure sustainability during times of crisis. The training program was held at Jade Hall, Golden Prince Hotel & Suites, and was facilitated by Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundindustry experts and seasoned business mentors.

The program gathered 24 enterprises comprising 35 business owners and entrepreneurs in Cebu City, who were all eager to learn and grow their businesses. The training covered a range of topics, including risk assessment, crisis management, financial management, and communication planning. The interactive sessions provided activities after every module and allowed participants to ask questions, share their insights, and engage in meaningful discussions with their fellow entrepreneurs.

As a culminating activity, the participants were tasked to develop a BCP roadmap and individual roadmap that they will implement in their respective businesses. The presentations were evaluated by the facilitators, and the winning team received a special prize.

The Business Recovery Mentoring Training is a testament to the power of collaboration between the private and public sectors in promoting economic development and business sustainability. With the knowledge and skills gained from this training, the participants are now better equipped to navigate the ever-changing business landscape and achieve long-term success. This is a great example of how private and public partnerships can help small businesses thrive and succeed even in the face of crisis situations.

One of the participants, Ms. Josephine Sayago, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to learn more knowledge and meet new friends. She hopes for more success to all. The trainers also commended the participants for their active participation and engagement during the training.
