Shobe Apares, the owner of Kape Tano, shares her heartfelt motivations, "We want that when the customers pass by our restaurant, they will not get too intimidated to come in, no snob appeal at all." Following her father's passing, Shobe made a resolute decision to keep his memory alive by opening a restaurant that would celebrate the cherished meals they once enjoyed together. The menu at Kape Tano proudly showcases some of Tano's favorite dishes, creating a lasting tribute to his legacy.


Together with her husband, Guido, Shobe has made a commitment to preserving local culinary traditions, which has become the hallmark of Kape Tano. The restaurant boasts a wide array of homegrown flavors, ranging from the satisfying Monggos Espesyal, which pairs exquisitely with Kinupsan, to the renowned Chorizo de Cebu, Chopsuey, Palabok Surprise, Stir Fried Canton, and other beloved Cebuano classics.

While the restaurant has already mastered the art of Cebuano cuisine during its initial month of preparation, the owners have ambitious plans to diversify their menu by incorporating various Asian cuisines in the coming months. Collaborating with the restaurant's esteemed pastry chefs Jon Monford and German Bondoc, Kape Tano's talented culinary team has crafted a range of signature classics that remain affordable without compromising on taste. Patrons can indulge in delightful treats such as Red Velvet Cheesecake, Chocolate Moist, Chocolate Fudge, and an assortment of other tempting pastries.
