Embracing Filipino Traditions: Parklane Belen Lighting Illuminates the Spirit of 'Pasko sa Banay

Last Friday, November 17, 2023, Cebu Parklane International Hotel broke away from the Western-inspired Christmas lighting tradition to illuminate the spirit of the season with their Belen Lighting ceremony. This year's theme, "Pasko sa Banay," underscores the importance of family and unity during the holiday season.

Reflecting on the true essence of Christmas, Atty. Cenelyn M. Dalnay, the General Manager, emphasized, "The greatest gift we can give and receive during this time is the presence and connections of our loved ones." This sentiment sets the tone for a celebration focused on meaningful connections and shared moments.

Encouraging patrons to embrace the Bayanihan spirit, the hotel aims to foster a sense of family that transcends differences in status, ethnicity, religion, or gender. The emphasis is on coming together, celebrating love, and creating lasting memories.

To complement the festive atmosphere, the hotel curated a Filipino feast featuring an array of delicacies such as Ube Maja, Lumpia, Turon, Chicken and Pork Adobo, and more. The culinary delights add a local touch to the event, showcasing the richness of Filipino flavors.

The decorations, with the Belen taking center stage, serve as a visual representation of the commitment to preserving traditions and honoring the rich cultural heritage of Cebu. The festive ambiance created by these decorations encapsulates the warmth and vibrancy of Filipino Christmas celebrations.

As Parklane International Hotel lights up the Belen, it not only marks the beginning of the holiday season but also symbolizes a dedication to embracing and cherishing Filipino traditions. In a world that often rushes past tradition, this celebration stands as a reminder of the importance of family, unity, and the cultural roots that make the Christmas season truly special.
